A workshop for parents & tweens

You're an elementary school pro. Nobody prepared you for this.

Six teachers, a locker combination, a planner that never comes home, and a kid who you don't always recognize. Middle school changes everything — and you're expected to already know how to guide them through it.

You don't have to figure it out alone.

In 90 minutes, you and your tween build the system together — so they build the habits that actually stick and establish a communication system that works.

When you leave this workshop, you and your tween will feel:

  • Prepared...thanks to our extensive tools and Colleen's expertise

  • Relief...knowing how to become, and maintain, organization

  • Excited...having your questions answered calms the jitters and nerves

  • Confident...even though middle school will be tough, you have the tools and strategies to deal with whatever comes your way!

In 90 minutes, you and your tween will workshop together to create systems that work. And stick!

  • A System for Tracking Each of their Seven Teachers + Expectations

  • Physical and Digital Organization Systems, including a plan for the locker

  • An Introduction to the Sunday Shuffle: the most important appointment of the week

  • The Genius Zone & Launch Pad

  • Tips for talking about jitters, anxiety, changing friendships and more

LAST WORKSHOP FOR 2026!

In Person

August 26, 6:00pm - 7:30pm MST

The Space, Arapahoe Libraries, ENGLEWOOD, CO

My - soon to be - middle schooler and I met with Colleen last week and it was SO helpful! We feel much more equipped to handle the middle schooler journey, and H was really excited about all of the organizational suggestions!

Solid strategies for engagement. Concrete and easily applied!

There was more actionable material in this session than any other I'd attended. Theory was presented and resources given for further exploration. But "here's what you can do now" was the vibe. Great!

WHAT YOU'LL WALK AWAY WITH

  • A Teacher Tracker for every class — where assignments post, late-work policies, and how to ask for help

  • A color-coded system for their binder, locker, and backpack that finally clicks (no accordion folders, we promise)

  • A homework routine built around a "Genius Zone," not nightly battles

  • The words to name what they're feeling and ask for help before it piles up

  • The Giant Calendar + Sunday Shuffle habit that keeps the whole family on the same page — not just you

  • A signed cell phone contract the whole family actually lives by

  • Real tools for the harder conversations — anxiety, shifting friendships, and knowing when it's more than a phase

  • Concrete ways to plug into their school year, from Back to School Night to their first club
